Make the Connection with Industry and Jobs
We work with academic, industry, and workforce partners across the country to provide professional development for biotechnology educators. Our longstanding ties to bioscience industry allow us to produce high quality, practical updates on biotechnology skills.
What we can do for you:
- Help you understand the skilled technical worker needs of the bioscience industry.
- Help you develop ideas for industry-vetted programs in professional development.
- Help you develop relationships with employers and Bio-Trade Associations.
- Work together on collaborative projects that involve our analytical lab or expertise.

Leveraging Deep Connections to the Bioscience Industry
We have been a biotechnology workforce center for 17 years. We have worked with community colleges, biotechnology industry, and workforce partners across the country to develop methods to create strong relationships and industry-driven projects. We have developed and updated skill standards in basic lab techniques and biomanufacturing, and we created the Core Skills for Bioscience Technicians–all vetted by industry partners. Most recently we have partnered with industry to develop skill needs for technical workers in cell and gene therapy, regenerative medicine, and biomedical devices.
Our professional development programs for community college and high school instructors are built on industry needs. Sessions are future looking, using interactive sessions developed with industry advisors and incorporating insights on skills needed by technical workers in the rapidly-evolving bioscience area. We conceived the InnovATEBIO Biosciences Leadership Program to help educators learn how to problem solve from an industry perspective.
